The topic of discussion
Question 1. What challenges me, touches me, outrages me, concerns me… the most in today’s world. It is not a question of saying “everything” but of choosing a theme and developing it.
The diversity of our personal approaches will probably give us a fairly broad picture of our world and its needs.
Question 2. Faced with the world I describe, how do I feel personally? What helps me not to despair? what would I like to do? what can I really do, concretely, at my age, in my situation?
On Saturday, 15 + AFI-ICA members gathered to discuss of the topic and share the lives of association.
On Sunday, more than 22 members presented their thoughts, ideas and suggestions to the issues of migration, exclusion and solidarity etc.
After the morning session and holy mass, joyful dinner time. In the afternoon, synthesizing the sessions about the themes. Finally, the result of the meeting came out.
Some of the points that came up were:
- Contact/communication with organizations like us
- Communication within ICA
- Outward orientation
- Decrease our “needs” to meet environmental/ecological situation
- Migration – this came up many times, and the term “displaced populations” was emphasized as well. Not all displaced persons migrate.
- Radical universality and inclusivity, including the earth!
- Must find a way to include young people
- Poverty – even in ICA
- Fear of – each other, violence, etc. Fear of not having a good life. Education – not just higher learning, but educating on how to live together
- If we focus on an umbrella of Exclusivity/Inclusivity, we can break into various groups within that – women, migrants, poor, etc.
