Members of the AFI in the Korea region celebrated the Feast of Pentecost on May 28th by organizing an event as a commemoration of the Association. Members from Onnuri, Donggurami, and East-West units gathered at the Myeong-Dong AFI Center, where they had a lecture and engaged in discussions about Fr. Vincent Lebbe. The speaker for the event was Professor Choi Byeong-il from Kangwon National University, who delivered a lecture titled “Social Healing: Fr. Vincent Lebbe’s Activities in China.”

After the lecture, members responded with various questions and comments, reflecting on Fr. Vincent Lebbe’s activities during the Sino-Japanese War. They discussed his efforts in providing medical treatment to the wounded in the battlefield and enlightening the Chinese people, evaluating these activities as acts of social healing.

The annual anniversary event, typically organized by the Onnuri Unit, could not be held for three years during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the fact that the three units came together on this day to commemorate was considered a moment of grace and blessing.
